Man in depression

Under conditions of modern life it is common for men to be depressed and to feel frustrated about this life. And male depression is twice more dangerous than female depression. You see, when woman is depressed she feels almost the way the depressed man feels, though when in depression woman is looking for someone who can listen to her. She usually meets her very best friend and tells that girls about everything she feels. In this way she expresses her feeling and she let the depression out together with hard feelings. Though, things are different when talking about men. They used to deal with everything all by themselves and so depressed man will never call his friend to part this depression to him. A man will never do so and, as you can see, there is no way out for hard feelings and for depression and it stays in man and kills him slowly. That is why male depression is twice more dangerous, it is important for stern men to realize that there is nothing bad in expressing feelings because it is a common way or our psychic to reduce tension.

Life is routine

This life people have is always of the same kind and there are no changes in this life. In most cases people have the same plan for each day of their lives. There are people who say it is great to be sure about every next second of their lives but there are also people who need something new in their lives all the time and they need this something new just like they need air for breathing. In case there is nothing new in their lives and there are no changes people are getting bored with their lives and day after day this state gets worse. People feel depressed and frustrated with lives they have and they are in a great lack of vital energy and desire for living. They are people with a constant desire for something new and in case they won’t get this new they will go down with their mental strength and potential. In this case depression comes and this depression may not be healed with chocolate or something. This kind of depression may only be healed by changes in life of this person and by providing one with the necessary emotions. No another medication may be used in this case and there is no another way to get person out of depression.

OVERCOME DEPRESSION TO LEAD A HAPPY LIFE

Depression affects many of us at various stages of our lives. If it hasn’t affected us personally, we know someone who has been affected by it. We can feel sad and depressed for a variety of reasons such as relationship difficulties or being rejected by a lover, losing a job, divorce, workplace conflict, financial difficulties, or the death of a loved one.

However, depression is more than just feeling sad. It is usually longer lasting and can have life-altering consequences that can destroy your self-esteem, health, and well-being. It can also affect your job and personal relationships. It is commonly characterized by melancholic moods that typically last longer than two weeks. Many people describe it like a dark cloud of desperation descending on their lives.

Symptoms of depression may include some or all of the following:

§ Lack of concentration, impaired decision making ability

§ Constant feelings of stress, anxiety, sadness, emptiness, or melancholy

§ Feelings of guilt, worthlessness, helplessness

§ Feelings of hopelessness and negativity

§ Fatigue or lack of energy

§ Reduced libido, sex drive

§ Insomnia, oversleeping, or waking early in the morning

§ Overeating, loss of appetite

§ Recurrent thoughts of death or suicide

For this type of depression, it is best to see a medical professional for treatment. They will usually recommend some form of psychotherapy and most commonly prescribe an antidepressant or a treatment program that consists of a combination of both.

For some of the other causes of depression, cognitive behavioral therapy may be recommended to address dysfunctional personality traits, stress, anxiety, and negative thinking patterns.

Depression Statistics

If you look at the statistics regarding depression it would seem that perhaps this might be a contagious disease. In the last thirty years more cases of depression have been diagnosed than there were in the previous one hundred years put together. So either life is that much more difficult, depression is a contagion, or there are people on medication for depression that might not need to be. Who knows? With our internally heated homes, modern conveniences, food at the grocery store that is already prepared, and electronic devices to help keep us connected to everyone we love I would find it hard to determine that life is harder now than it was one hundred years ago. Our modernization has simplified much of life’s hassles and allowed us to get more done in a shorter period of time.

Considering that I have seen some extremely depressed people in my life and haven’t come down with it immediately after, I would have to determine that it isn’t a contagious disease. Sure, I have suffered from periods of depression and they aren’t pleasant. I don’t like the feeling and most of us find the feeling very uncomfortable. But that doesn’t mean I have any sort of chronic condition. Situations and our lack of preparedness for those situations can invite depression, as can loss, financial pressure, and even happy changes like a new job or baby. These are not situations that can be medicated. One has to question, with depression at an all time high and growing in numbers, if the drug companies aren’t somehow more interested in finding doctors who like to diagnose depression even when it is a short term situational feeling. While depression in its clinical form can be very serious, our increase in medicating the depressed has not decreased our suicide rate. Perhaps it is time to evaluate our definition of depression.
